A born and raised Midwest girl with nothing more than ambition, integrity, and a dream, I’m grateful to empower women to balance their health, home, and habits.
Through fifteen years of nutrition knowledge and know-how, a supportive Facebook group, individual coaching services, and a science-based nutrition blog, I help women like you design a meaningful plan, develop small, consistent action, and depend on a community of support to make your dreams a reality.  It’s simple, effective, and motivating!

“How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something,
but to be someone.”  Coco Chanel

Nebraska has always been my home.  Once I met my husband, a born and raised farmer, I knew this is where my heart would stay. My husband is my rock…he keeps me grounded…solid as the earth he cultivates. Nebraska is also a good place to raise a family.  We have two children, who challenge us every day, but we have committed to teach them Christian values and to grow and learn with them. God has truly blessed our family!
Becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD) fifteen years ago, my work has primarily been in clinical nutrition (hospitals).  Shortly after my children were born, I reignited my passion for sport and fitness (after a brief hiatus since high school.)  This passion then spilled over into my professional career as well, which lead me here, to EatMoveDaily.

Change is Inevitable

My department at work restructured a couple years ago, leaving me with that ‘oh so wonderful’ sense of fear and uncertainty.  Searching for a new job was a knee jerk reaction In an attempt to remain in control of my life.  Knowing there was not much opportunity for dietitians in rural NE, I desired to become more self-sustainable.  Being an entrepreneur is in my blood; my father, sister and even my husband have owned their own businesses so following in their footsteps seemed logical.
Don’t get me wrong, the safety of a regular paycheck and other benefits are very comforting, especially when my children were small.  I could leave work at work and focus on my home at home.

Timing is Everything

Regardless, the upheaval at work was not pleasant.  That’s when I ran across Precision Nutrition’s remote work, all in perfect timing.  Already familiar with their impeccable blog and infographics, the belief to enroll in their year-long coaching program would make me a stronger candidate for a future position.  Disclaimer:  I also envisioned a radical physical transformation during the process as well…as all my dreams come true.
Well, I completed the program, but no new dream job and no radical physical transformation.  It was nothing like I thought it would be.  The lessons and workouts were no problem, but the program pushed me outside of my comfort zone.  Other issues surfaced, generating a discomfort that I was not prepared for.
Honestly, at the end of the program, I was frustrated and confused; still fearful and uncertain of not knowing what was going to happen next.

Cccccourage

BUT unlike the past, when I would shove these feelings of discomfort into a box and close to lid to deal with them later, I chose differently and knew exactly what I needed to do, thanks to the coaching from PN.
After a few months of sifting through the discomfort, here I am…being brave and courageous to follow my dreams.  Getting clear with what I truly desire and value has helped me set new goals, leaving me with a new found hope for my future.

Diet is a Four Letter Word

You see, for as long as I can remember, the women in my life were always on a diet.  Even as a young child, dieting was not appealing.  What I witnessed was misery, restriction, and deprivation – with still no results, or at least fleeting results.  And I would experience the same effects with just even the thought of trying a diet.  Diet is a four letter word to me!
I believe that a ‘physical transformation’ has more to do with than just concepts like “calories in vs calories out” or “eat less, move more” and it doesn’t have to be miserable.
It has been said that our feelings become our thoughts, our thoughts become our actions, and our actions become our lives.  My coaching is not just about food and exercising.  You can guarantee that I will ask “what is the reason you want to make this change.”  Through integrating your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and getting clear on what you truly want will fill you with a refreshing energy, meaning, and purpose.

Setting Intentions

I want to be upfront and say that I don’t know all the answers.  I am not perfect and I make mistakes.  Imperfection is welcomed!  That’s why I have worked hard on developing a set of core values for EMD.  These core values set the stage for our budding relationship to thrive.  If interested, view them here.
I also don’t guarantee any quick fixes, or even weight loss, with my coaching.  My guarantee is having someone who cares and is willing to walk beside you so that you can achieve your personal best.  I can’t do the work for you…it’s all on you.  But my commitment to you as your coach will make the work easier and more rewarding.  My intentions for EMD is to equip you with the precise tools that will bring you closer to your dreams.  You deserve it!

My blog is slowing coming around, but it can also be a source of reliable and science-based information for you to refer to.  Most of the time you will see it updated weekly.  Plus if you subscribe, you will receive my unique (and free) download “Slow the Fork Down:  My Number One Tip for Sustainable Weight Loss.”  Eating slower may not only lower your food intake as much as 10-15%, but  may improve digestion, increase satiety, and increase mindfulness.  The download provides a comprehensive list to slow your eating, besides just chewing more.
We can also connect via social media or shoot me a quick email.  The links are right below.
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me and my why.  I’m thrilled we’re connecting and I’m excited for our journey ahead.
